The NAAAP Convention and Career Fair is the biggest event for Asian professionals all year. 2014 is an exciting year as we bring the NAAAP Convention to Southern California where three chapters (Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego) have contributed to planning substantive and memorable programs throughout the Convention.
There are more than 20 sessions on entrepreneurship, career development, leadership image and style, and issues affecting Asian professionals. Special 2014 programs include a night in downtown Disney at the House of Blues on Friday night, and a Macy’s Fashion Show during Saturday lunch. Major speakers from business and government will be featured during meals, when all Convention participants are gathered.
The Honorable Gary Locke, former U.S. Ambassador to China, Secretary of Commerce and Governor of Washington State, is confirmed as the Gala Dinner speaker. A co-located Career Fair attracts diversity-focused companies seeking Asian talent for entry level to mid-career positions in many disciplines. If you’re concerned about the future of Asians in the workplace, want to break a glass ceiling yourself, or are actively or passively job seeking, the 2014 NAAAP Convention and Career Fair are the BEST place to be.
This year’s Convention theme, the Rise of Asian America, focuses on the breakthroughs of individuals in various professions, the increase in Asian influence and presence in politics, executive ranks, and media. Through this theme, we hope to explore the trends and factors contributing to the Rise of Asian America and to address the gaps and challenges we are still trying to overcome.
